Job description:
General Role Purpose (brief description of this job)
Reporting to the Superintendent Training , the Officer Training will identify and monitor training needs in the organization, and design, plan, and implement training programs, policies, and procedures to fulfill those needs.
Qualifications (required for job) & Knowledge & Experience
- BS/BA degree in a related field and/or five years practical and training experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong graphic design ability.
- Thorough understanding of training processes.
- Ability to moderate large groups.
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Core Specific Responsibilities & Expected Deliverables
- Monitor adherence to the established training programs to ensure standard work in the training programs.
- Assists in research and development of newly identified training needs.
- Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness.
- Handle support & logistics for training activities including training materials, venues and equipment.
- Organize, develop or source training programs to meet specific training needs.
- Support all internal and external audit and/or inspection activities, including but not limited to information retrieval, file copies, etc.
- Set-up and maintain formal training tracking and/or Learning Management System (LMS), including new hires, job changes, course creation/deletion, change control, etc
- Data entry of all mine training via entry into formal tracking and/or Learning Management System. Data input to include dates of completion, revision codes, etc.
- Establish and maintain all training filing systems, ensuring they are current, well organized and accurate.
- Track metrics company- and industry-wide in order to determine best training practices.
- Provide thorough evaluation of training program, curriculum, and facilitation.
- Support organizational activities, when required.

Operational Requirements
Cobre Panama is a remote site. This exciting position is based off-site and will be focusing on driving and delivering operational accountability and ownership across various units at Cobre Panama site. Rosters and working hours may vary depending on business requirements and occasional travel to the site is required.
Environmental Responsibilities
- Comply with current environmental regulations in Panama
- Comply with the commitments contained in the Environmental Impact Studies and other additional studies in this regard, which apply to your area and activities.
- Comply with the provisions of the Minera Panama Environmental Management System.
