What the role is
The Strategic Planning, Research and Development Group (SPRG) drives the strategic planning process to help MSF advance its mission and contribute to the whole-of-government strategic objectives.
The Data Governance Office (DGO), under SPRG, drives MSF’s data strategy, formulates data governance policies/ processes and builds data capabilities within MSF.
The Combined Analytics and Visualisation System (CANVAS) is one of MSF’s key digital initiatives to achieve the overall transformation goal of a forward-looking, citizen-centric social service system that provides timely and robust interventions in a sustainable manner. CANVAS will eventually serve as the “first stop” for social service sector data, providing an integrated view of the client and the support rendered in the form of services/programmes over time for analytics purposes and to serve OneMSF system’s data needs.
You will be part of a cross-functional workgroup to drive the planning and development of CANVAS.

What you will be working on
Your job scope includes (but is not limited to) the following:
- Engage stakeholders to identify opportunities to leverage data in addressing problem statements and business needs
- Develop strategies to ensure that good quality data is securely and seamlessly shared within CANVAS
- Lead team in managing CANVAS development, manage system risks, ensure business continuity, and recommend system improvements
- Propose and drive change management activities to onboard new CANVAS users
- Plan for future phases of CANVAS development and resource acquisition

An ideal candidate should possess the following experience and qualities:
An ideal candidate should possess the following experience and qualities:
- Background in Business Development or equivalent, with at least two years of working experience in conceptualising, strategising and implementing cross-functional projects
- 3-5 years of managerial experience either in leading teams or projects
- Analytical and creative problem-solver who is resourceful and proactive to initiate change. You are on a constant lookout for better ways of doing things
- Strong communication and inter-personal skills to engage a wide spectrum of stakeholders, including external partners and inter-departmental teams
- Relevant skills in analytical tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, R, Python, SAS) would be an advantage
